Marking the 250th anniversary of the Royal Proclamation of 1763, issued by King George III of Great Britain, Keeping Promises shows how such treaties in Canada are executed to maintain Aboriginal Rights. This collection includes essays by historians, treaty negotiators, lawyers and Aboriginal leaders with addresses by the Governor General of Canada and the federal minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development. It is a testament to the research, advocacy, solidarity and accomplishments of the Land Claims Agreements Coalition.
